Ancient Roman Glass Beads - Afghanistan (AF163)

This ancient Roman glass was found in southern Afghanistan. The beads are actually a clay/glass mix and came from broken mosaics off buildings. They are between 900 & 1200 years old, and were excavated in 2006. Glass has not been produced in this area for 900 years. The strand measures 20" and there are 41 beads in total, measuring from 10mm x 8mm x 3mm to 40mm x 31mm x 15mm. These beads are one of a kind, the strand you see pictured are the exact beads you will receive.
