Aquamarine is found in Brazil, the United States, Russia, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya, with the finest found in Russia and African regions.
Aquamarine is a gemstone quality variety of beryl. It most commonly is found in a delicate turquoise color, but is also found in yellow and rose varieties.
Aquamarine has a moh’s hardness rating of 7.5 to 8.

Myths and Therapeutic Properties:
Throughout the middle ages it was believed that aquamarine would cure the effects of poisoning. It has also been known to aid in overcoming grief. Sailors frequently carried or wore this powerful gemstone believing it would ensure a safe passage. They also believed the fish like lower body of mermaids consisted of Aquamarine.
