Aventurine:

Aventurine deposits are found in Russia, Brazil, Tanzania, Chile, India, Spain, and Austria.
Aventurine is a type of microcrystalline quartz containing tiny inclusions of shimmering minerals. A sparkling effect results during the formation of the stone. This effect is also known as “aventurescence”. The stone may also have a silver luster caused from mica inclusions or it may have a reddish or grayish luster caused from hematite inclusions. It is not known to be enhanced.
Aventurine is a 6.5 on the Moh’s scale.

The name aventurine stems from the Italian phrase “a ventura”, meaning by chance. This beautiful stone is believed to have a lucky effect, therefore is commonly used among gamblers. It is also known as a calming stone and is has the ability to quiet a troubled spirit. Therapeutic properties for aventurine include improving nearsightedness and reducing stress, as well as being an all-around healer, assisting to cure a wide variety of ailments.
