Blue & White Sandcast Glass Beads (SC603)

These beads were made by pulverizing old (recycled) glass, which is then poured into molds and then placed in a crude earthen oven where the powered is molten into glass. They are often referred to as "powder glass" beads as well as "sand cast". The strand measures approx 26" and there are approx 39 beads in total, measuring 17-21mm x 12mm. They are strung on raffia and were hand crafted in Ghana, Africa.
