Brass Tabular Beads - Baule 20mm x 13mm (ME5637)

These ornate brass tabular (flat) beads came Africa and were used by the Baule people. Each bead was handmade from wax and then cast with molten brass, because of this no two are perfectly identical, each is unique. The strand measures approx 26" and there are 26 beads in total, measuring approx 20mm x 13mm, the hole measures 2mm. Please be aware that the casting process used to produce these beads dates back to the 7th century in Africa, therefore expect these beads to have somewhat of a crude character, a small dent or a missing section on a bead should be expected.
