Fire Polished Czech Glass Beads
All of the beads on this page were completely handcrafted of glass in the Czech Republic. The quality is superior. Some of this amazing glass is as much as 100 years old. Be sure to read all descriptions thoroughly; note the bead size, bead count and realize that some 'strands or bags' will include as little as 25 beads and some might include more than 100 beads.
Fire polished beads are produced by melting the surfaces of pressed beads in an extremely hot oven. The pressed beads are faceted prior to heating: round pressed beads (druks) are placed on a pronged board and inserted into a faceting machine where the beads are angled onto a grinding wheel until all sides are faceted.
