Green Teardrop w/Matrix Turquoise Beads 18-20mm (TUR761)

These green w/matrix, tabular (flat, though thick) teardrop shaped turquoise beads are made from Chinese turquoise. The strand measures approx 17" and there are approx 22 beads in total (drilled lengthwise), measuring approx 18-20mm in length x 5-6mm thick, though some beads might be slightly larger or smaller. These beads were hand cut; therefore, expect slight imperfections in shape, size and color. This particular turquoise is a lower grade (though it is indeed turquoise) and the price reflects the quality. The stabilization process increases durability and enhances the color of stone somewhat. Some of this turquoise may have been a lighter shade (even white) in it's natural form, as it contains little (or no) iron or copper, which is what gives turquoise it's color.
