Large Batik Bone Beads, Stars - Kenya (BA46)

These beads were made from bone and were dyed using a special batik-like process. They are off-white & dark brown in color. They came from Kenya, Africa. Each strand measures approx 25" and there are approx 36-40 beads on the strand, each bead measuring approx 20-25mm x 12-15mm, though some might be larger and some smaller, they are irregular. They are strung on raffia. As with any handmade bead, expect some variation in color and size. The center of the bead is 'plugged' with wood, this easily separates from the bone if you need a very large hole, otherwise the wood can be secured with glue if necessary.
