Click on the image for a larger view. These graduated quartz beads came from excavations in the Djenne area of Mali. They are at least 1000 years old. They have a nice patina and each bead was biconically drilled by hand. The strand measures 31" long and there are approx 90 beads in total, ranging from 10mm to at least 25mm in diameter. They are irregular in shape.
