Pale Blue Gray Sandcast Glass Beads 10-11mm (SC772)

These beads were made by pulverizing old (recycled) glass, which is then poured into molds and then placed in a crude earthen oven where the powered is molten into glass. They are often referred to as "powder glass" beads as well as "sand cast". Bluish gray with blue specks, yellow and mauve. The strand measures approx 23" and there are approx 65 beads in total, each measuring approx 10-11mm in diameter (2-3mm hole). They are strung on raffia and were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa.
