These beads were made from natural lava rock. They are black, have an irregular rondelle shape and have a slightly polished finish, though the beads have small cavities typical of lava rock. The strand measures 16" and there are approx 48 beads in total, measuring approx 12mm in diameter. Expect some imperfections in these beads as each was hand produced.

Definitely look better in person than in photo

Definitely look better in person than in photo - not so contrasty. The polishing gives them a more finished look without taking away too much of the natural feel. The coloring is definitely a neutral black (dark gray). I love the rondelle shape; it gives them a certain elegance. The size is good, with a notable presence but as you can imagine they are very lightweight.
