 'Trash to Treasure' Beading Contest 2011 ~ recycle, repurpose, rebead
Entry Rules:
- Only 1 entry per person.
- All entries must be received by midnight on April 17th, 2011.
- Your entry must be newly produced with the 'Trash to Treasure' Beading Contest in mind.
- There are 6 categories which are listed below, you may place your entry in only 1 category.
- Happy Mango Beads reserves the right to move an entry to a different category if necessary.
- Your entry must be jewelry: necklace, bracelet, earrings, etc.
- Judging will be based on originality, visual appeal, best use of beads and how well it fits our 'Trash to Treasure' theme and categories.
- There will be 3 judges, all are artists in various mediums including jewelry design.
- Prizes: There will be 1 grand prize winner who will receive a $150 gift certificate to Happy Mango Beads; plus 6 category winners, each will receive a $50.00 gift certificate.
- You DO NOT need to be a customer of Happy Mango Beads to enter this contest and it is NOT necessary that the beads you use in your project be purchased from Happy Mango Beads - we know there are other great sources!
- To enter this contest please fill out the contest ENTRY FORM (below) and then email 1 or 2 images of your entry to contest@happymangobeads.com and include your name in the subject. Note: If your photos are tiny or of poor resolution it may be hard to judge your work. The best image size is 640x480 pixels or larger.
- All entries (photos) will be posted on Happy Mango Beads Facebook page - look in photos: http://www.facebook.com/HappyMangoBeads
- Happy Mango Beads retains the right-to-use all photos, as they may be used in future promotional material.
- Winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22nd and prizes will be awarded on April 23rd.

Following each category we offer suggestions. Please realize you are not limited to or expected to use all these ideas, be creative, and remember that this is a BEADing contest - be sure your piece includes beads.
Trash to Cash - paper, plastic, bottle caps, etc.
Compost Happens! – natural, organic, sustainable
Is that my old windshield? – recycled glass
Scrap Metal – metal, old keys, chain
No Earlybirds! – yard sale/second-hand finds revamped
I'm not a dang hippie, I just want to enter this contest! – trashy elegance
