White, Teal & Red Sandcast Glass Beads 9-12mm (SC761)

These beads were made by pulverizing old (recycled) glass, which is then poured into molds and then placed in a crude earthen oven where the powered is molten into glass. They are often referred to as "powder glass" beads as well as "sand cast". Off-white, teal and orangish red. The strand measures approx 23" and there are approx 52 beads in total, each measuring approx 9-12mm long x 10mm in diameter (2-3mm hole). They are strung on raffia and were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa.
